ORGANIZATION

The membership of the Black Alumni Society and Friends shall consist of Black graduates, current students, individuals interested in the advancement of the University of Oklahoma (“friends”), and individuals who have rendered exceptional or distinguished service to the University (“Honorary Board”).

PURPOSE

To unite African~American graduates, former students, and holders of honorary positions within an organization that assists those students currently attending the University of Oklahoma, high school students interested in attending the University, individuals interested in the advancement of the University, and graduates of the University.

MISSION

1. To assist the University of Oklahoma in its recruitment of African ~ American Students.
2. To provide potential and currently enrolled African ~American students with academic and financial support, and social activities.
3. To provide former and current students with networking opportunities, as well as, an opportunity to enjoy social activities of mutual interest.
4. To promote communication among members of this Organization, faculty, and students of the University of Oklahoma .
5. To identify issues and concerns related to the plight of the African~American students and faculty at the University of Oklahoma .
